How to Use Jojoba Oil for Hair and Skin
Jojoba Oil is one of my favorite carrier oils because it is so versatile and gentle. I use jojoba both to help other oils penetrate into the hair and because it fills the hair shaft in porous hair. Jojoba helps repair heat damage and is great for scalp problems like dandruff.
JOJOBA FOR HAIR CONDITIONING
If I have a free day at home, I apply Jojoba to my hair earlier in the day and let that sit for a bit, then apply other oils or conditioners atop the Jojoba. A small amount of Jojoba can be used on the ends of hair for styling and protecting, it is not greasy. Similar benefits to olive oil for the scalp but it is much easier to wash Jojoba out of the hair.
Jojoba is an excellent carrier oil for a few drops of essential oil. Some examples of essential oils that can be used with jojoba are peppermint oil lavender oil or Rosemary oil. Each of these essential oils, when combined with jojoba oil make for a healthy scalp massage oil.
If you are a “No ‘poo” shampooer, you will definitely like Jojoba more than olive oil for scalp conditioning. It adds shine, it is unscented and absorbs easily.
Jojoba as a Skin Moisturizer
Jojoba is also very nice as a facial moisturizer, whether you have dry or oily skin, as it is very close to sebum and helps the skin regulate itself. Massaging jojoba into the skin gently removes blackheads. Learn more in the article How to Use Jojoba Oil for Skincare.
